Founded in 1979 as the first privately owned glass manufacturer in Egypt, MEG began its journey with a single facility dedicated to meeting the local demand for carbonated soft drink bottles. Over the decades, the company has grown into a leader in the glass container industry, creating elegant and durable products for some of the world’s most beloved brands.
MEG has a proven track record of strategic acquisitions that have played a pivotal role in driving value creation and enhancing both financial and operational performance. This growth has positioned MEG as a powerhouse in the glass manufacturing sector, with shares listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
With over 30 years of expertise, MEG operates three advanced manufacturing sites in Nasr City, Sadat City, and Mostorod. These facilities are powered by six furnaces, 17 production lines, and 10 state-of-the-art decorating machines, delivering a total production capacity of 1,050 tons per day. The company’s decorating capabilities are the largest in the MENA region, offering customization options that cater to diverse client needs.
MEG’s product portfolio includes glass bottles in three colors—Flint, Amber, and Green—available year-round. More than half of the company’s production is exported, solidifying its reputation as a key player in the international market. With a steadfast commitment to quality and innovation, MEG continues to shape the future of glass manufacturing.
